This man has forever changed the way we think about mission and mission trips and what we are called to do on mission trips. I loved this quote from him.
Both in India and in my travels around Western countries, I constantly uncovered a preoccupation with so-called “ministry” activities operated by Christian workers, financed by church monies, but with little else to distinguish them as Christian. . . . Social concern is a natural fruit of the Gospel. But to put it first is to put the cart before the horse; and from experience, we have seen it fail in India for more than 200 years. Yet while I realized the intrinsic nature of the Gospel involved [in] caring for the poor, I knew the priority was giving them the Gospel. Meeting their needs was a means to share the love of Christ so they would be saved for eternity.

So very true! Alot of times we are loving people into Hell without giving them Christ crucified!
I loved reading his book "Revolution"... I'm excited to hear from GFA at the conference in September!
This man is "spot on!" I used to teach in a Christian school whose only goal was to provide blankets for earthquake victims. It was a good goal but it took the place of the gospel both for the people out there and the students in the school. When children who were my students began accepting Christ as their savior, I was so persecuted that I had to leave. I am so glad that I never talked to or prayed with any of the students myself because they couldn't trace it back to me. I just taught the Bible lessons and asked the Lord to do his work. WOW! I couldn't believe what happened. They were drawn to the Lord like magnets. As a result of that experience, I really learned a lot about soul winning.
I should write down the circumstances around their decisions lest I forget. It was an amazing experience! God really showed up while I was under persecution.
I loved the book too, and love that quote!
