I cannot seem to figure out why I feel so much stress lately. I do NOT have seasonal depression. I am very happy to stay in my warm little house. I would love to see how warm weather but I just think that life has just been too busy with too much on our plate. We had a talk about this at home group last night.
I think back to this past weekend and how much I crammed in. It was all wonderful stuff. It was all stuff that was glorifying to the Lord. However how much is too much. I had not one minute to spare this entire weekend.
What are some ways that you are all able to really truly de stress. One of my favorite ways is to take many hot showers!! :) They have to be HOT!! Anyways if you could all share with me some of your favorite bible verses that help you to de stress I would be grateful!! I know I have a few good friends out there that can use this as well.

Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. (Psalm 61:1-4)
I've learned (from past experience) that even though it's hard- really pray to discern if the opportunity is what God is wanting you to do. Sometimes you have to say no- even though it's hard.
Boy that's hard! The only time I feel destressed is in the U.P! I agree with Cheri about things that your doing! You need to know it's of God! There are alot of good things out there!
I've included the whole chapter because I think it all speaks so well about what to do and who to turn to no matter what we're facing! :)
Psalm 46
1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Selah
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
8 Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear, he burns the shields with fire.
10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."
11 The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah
You and me both, sister! I was so stressed this weekend, and it was due to the same thing. Too much to do in too short a time, along with major craziness at work. I love this verse, but didn't put my thoughts on it when I should have.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but bring everything to God with thankfulnees and the peace of God will keep your heart and mind in Christ Jesus." Phillippians 4:6-7
Brenda, I will be praying for you. I have lived with stress and understand how it can affect one's health.
The Holy Spirit who lives inside you is there to teach you and guide you. Read the Word and listen to Him. I did and I was healed.
God bless you dear sister and I will be praying for you. Since I have been there, I really feel your pain.
Thanks Brenda. All of the verses in your comments are so helpful to me. I think I'll copy them down and just randomly place them around the house.
You may think you aren't suffering from seasonal depression but don't under-estimate the effect of not being in the sun has on a person. I know one warm day to get outside and soak up some sun could really help. Until then make certain you are making a little time to unwind for yourself everyday. Hot showers are great! I love them right before bed it helps loosen tense muscles also.
Smiles!
